Look What I Did!

Do you remember my amusingly hopeless attempts to crochet a square, a month or so ago? Well, after creating several more previously unknown shapes since then, I think I finally cracked it last night:

Is that not squarishly, almost, near enough, a square? I mean, if it had some little squarish friends, and their corners were tied together with bits of wool, would it not then be part of a fairly convincing blanket?

I think so! Yay me, craftswoman extraordinaire!!! And I taught myself to crochet left-handed, too (not bad, eh, Debs?!). Watch out, world, for you shall soon be covered in blankets made of purple squarey things!

I'm a little bit pleased with myself. Can you tell?

I also think a world covered in purple crochet blankets would be a rather lovely place to be!!

I am so impressed!!! I can't crochet for toffee (although I would love to be able to!!).

Looks great, but I'm getting the sneaking feeling that I want to have a go too.

OMG. That's so fab. And you've almost stolen tomorrow's blog post from me.

I've had many failed attempts to crochet but I'm just that stupid! I can't tell where to stick the hook back in... they all look like knots.

Carol, honestly, if I can do it, you can.
Debs, why not? There are some great tutorials on the Internet, you just have to get the hang of doing everything as if in a mirror reflection of the pictures, then it works OK for us left-handers.
JJ, so sorry about nicking your blog post! *scurries away carrying bag marked SWAG*

Ooh I say that's rather lovely, well done :o) My gran taught me to crochet many years ago but I'm not sure I can remember how to now!
